Metro Under Construction in Saudi Arabia, the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Project

  • To help cope with the large numbers of people who visit Saudi Arabia to perform the Haj every year, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is constructing a metro in Makkah.
  • The completion date is expected to be in 2011 before the Haj takes place.

  • For the Makkah Metro, the trains will be 5 cars long and will be suspended from concrete tracks.
